Bible Verse

This week’s Bible Verse explains that Jesus wants to give us a fulfilling life, but that’s the last thing Satan wants for us. John 10:10

Bible Story

This week in our lesson we see that Jesus compared Himself to a Good Shepherd, one that takes care of His sheep. We used our imaginations and looked at what would happen if a flock of sheep didn’t have a shepherd and the trouble they would get into. You can read the story of Jesus telling us that He is our Good Shepherd in John 10:1-11

Ways to Be a Good Sheep

One day this week, while in the car, talk about what it means that Jesus is our Good Shepherd. Then, talk through some ways that you can be a good sheep and apply this principle. An example would be a good sheep doesn’t stray from the flock. An application of this would be to regularly attend church. Or, a good sheep listens to his Shepherd’s voice, and you could do this through reading your Bible and praying.

Scavenger Hunt

One day this week, set up a scavenger hunt for your kids. Hide several clues all throughout the house. Each clue should have directions that will lead your kids to the next clue. At the final clue, leave some kind of small prize or dessert. As the kids are going through the scavenger hunt talk about the good directions that you left for them. Help them see that just like you gave them good directions to follow, our Good Shepherd also gives us good directions to follow.
